In the ancient wisdom traditions of Buddhism and Yoga, viveka refers to a state of inner seclusion and detachment, born from the discriminative wisdom that sees clearly the true nature of mind and body, the prerequisite for the cessation of unsatisfactoriness and suffering (dukkha).
In this week-long retreat we begin our journey towards the state of viveka and inner peace by secluding ourselves within the presence of protected jungle, pristine beaches and rejuvenating ocean waters.
Building upon the inherent seclusion of our inspiring natural surroundings, our practices will systematically return the mind to its original state of detached receptivity and the equanimous refuge of awareness.
We invite you to join us for an incredible week of dedicated practice, nourishing food and new friendships, set amongst 300 acres of lush jungle reserve and dreamlike beaches. Hidden at the end of a dirt road in the stunning Riviera Nayarit, this Mexican family-owned property has been in the family for over 45 years, and we feel incredibly fortunate to call it the new home of our annual Mexican retreats.
The environmentally conscious retreat grounds and beach are completely private, offering incredibly clean and gentle waters for swimming, snorkeling and kayaking. Hiking trails abound throughout the beautiful jungle reserve, including access to virgin beaches around the corner from the retreat centre.
With up to five practices offered a day (vinyasa, yin yoga, mindfulness, meditation) this week is a rare opportunity to find seclusion, both physically and mentally, from the busyness of contemporary life.
